Thoughts on Wave

October 30th, 2009 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

So I’ve been using the Google Wave preview for about a week now. Here’s my initial thoughts:

  • It has a very clean, email like interface.
  • Waves are so much more efficient and easier to use than email.
  • Gadgets are going to take Waves to a whole new level.
  • Waves will revolutionize communication and collaboration.
  • Waves can get messy to look at. (i.e. Blips in between blips and adding extensions in blips.)
  • It’s pretty slow (it’s probably because it’s only in the preview version right now)

    I agree the interface is really clean and tidy, but the do get messy, and it breaks down a lot. It will be really helpful for collab projects, and messaging in a style halfway between forums and IM/e-mail

    Yeh, I’d have to agree. It’s much cooler and more efficient to use. But it gets messy very quickly. In my inbox I only have 11 waves, including 4 from doctor wave, but already it’s feeling very messy.

    By ‘messy’ I mean in the Waves it can get messy to look like because of random blips in the middle of other blips.

    @Thomas
    Oh, I actually find that very well done on Google’s part. I think it’s a really simple and neat way of doing some pretty advanced, complicated, things.
